Entitled mom demands that 22-year-old friend let her spoiled 6-year-old "try" her medical inhaler, friendship sours when she refuses to share her medication for fun: "I need this for breathing"

Kids are naturally very curious, and thus, very easily distracted. If you are working in childcare, you can learn to use this fact to your advantage. I used to babysit a 4-year-old a couple of days a week. The boy's mom had just given birth to his new baby brother, and part of the shtick was that I had to keep him out of the house until dinner so that mom didn't have to juggle cooking with two little ones in tow. So, to keep his after-school brain distracted from thoughts of going home, I would point out random objects to him — flowers, insects, and birds. We'd read facts about them on Wikipedia and look up more pictures. Eventually, he started pointing out stuff to me that he wanted to know more about. 
In our story today, a curious kid takes a look-see through his mom's friend's purse and finds a strange object — an inhaler. Our protagonist politely asks him to drop it, but his mom gets offended on his behalf and even implies that she should have shared her medication with him for funsies.

    So this happened a few weeks ago, and I'm still kind of in disbelief. I (22F) have pretty severe asthma. I don't need it every day, but when I do, I really need my inhaler. Like, hospital-trip-if-l-don't-use-it need it. I always carry a backup one in my bag just in case.
